Petite Dance Company (PDC)
Petite Dance Company (PDC) is an introductory company program designed for HDA's youngest dancers who are ready to experience the commitment, teamwork, and performance opportunities of being part of a dance company. PDC provides young dancers with a positive and structured introduction to the company environment while continuing to prioritize age-appropriate technical development, musicality, confidence, and a love of dance.
PDC is designed for dancers who are ready to take the next step beyond recreational classes and experience performing and competing as part of a team. The program introduces dancers to the discipline and responsibility of company participation while keeping the experience developmentally appropriate for their age.

Company Snapshot
PDC is divided into two required company groups to create smaller and more manageable rehearsal environments:
All PDC dancers participate in their required large-group choreography. First-year company dancers will participate exclusively in the required large group, allowing them to become comfortable with the rehearsal process, performance expectations, and company environment.
Second-year company dancers may also be considered for additional competition opportunities, including duets, trios, and small groups, at the discretion of the PDC Director. These opportunities allow returning dancers to gradually take on additional responsibility and develop greater confidence as performers.
PDC dancers compete at Starz dance competition. Competition participation provides dancers with an age-appropriate introduction to the experience of performing on a competition stage while developing teamwork, preparation, and performance skills.
All PDC dancers are required to perform in The Nutcracker and/or Spring Production (produced every other year) and the Spring Dance Concert (Recital). These productions provide additional opportunities for dancers to gain stage experience and become familiar with the rehearsal and performance process of a larger-scale production.
Required Weekly Training
To participate in PDC, dancers are required to maintain the following weekly training throughout the full company season:
One Pre-Ballet II class per week
One Jazz/Hip Hop or Tap/Jazz Combo class per week
One PDC company rehearsal per week on Thursday evenings
Because PDC is a year-long company commitment, all company members are required to maintain enrollment at Hinsdale Dance Academy for the entire school year. Consistent participation in company rehearsals, performances, competitions, and regular Young Children's Program training is an essential component of the PDC experience. This structure allows dancers to build the technical foundation, classroom skills, confidence, and performance experience that will prepare them for continued growth within HDA's company programs.

Auditions:
All dancers must audition for company every year, this allows us to see current members next to prospective members and choose solos, duets, trios, small groups, etc. for the following year.
Fee: $20.00 per dancer (cash, check, or charge)
Please arrive 15-20 minutes before your audition time to fill out the form and warm-up.
Location: Hinsdale Dance Academy- Studio C
Please note, it is our goal to provide as many opportunities as possible, however, if we do not feel like your dancer is ready for a company experience, they may not be accepted. In these instances, we will communicate what your dancer needs to do to prepare for these opportunities in the future.
